HIGH QUALITY DORPER SHEEP

Our Lambs are the offspring of superior Dorper Rams and Ewes; our goal is to provide you and your loved ones with unrivaled quality and flavor.

Dorpers are not wool sheep; they are meat sheep... and meat is what we love.  The breed has a High meat to bone ratio, and is often credited with having the best carcass when judged against other breeds. 

 

The breed itself was developed in the arid climate of South Africa.  They are a hardy and very adaptable, making them the perfect breed for the climate and conditions of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

Our Rams are studs with genes (AI) imported from Australia.  They have been tested to ensure that they have and will produce the best meat ratios and breed characteristics.

 

Beyond the meet, our Dorpers are....

  • TENDER BY DESIGN

  • LOW  MAINTENANCE

  • ADAPTABLE.

  • EFFICIENT - Their ability to utilize the grass they have available is second to none.

  • FAST GROWING - lambs are small, but by 3-4 months, they can be close to 80 lbs.

  • PROLIFIC - they have a long breeding season and are known for having twins.

  • SUSTAINABLE  - Dorpers have a long lifespan and remain productive for the duration.

  • STOUT - A primary goal for developing the breed so many years ago was to create a breed that could overcome many of the threats that often challenge other breeds of sheep.

  • A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH- they require very little training to handle.

We Take Tenderness to the Next Level.

Stress can cause an animal have tougher and drier meat.   
Our Dorper lambs are raised together on our fields and pastures in a natural, low-stress environment where they can flourish.  This ensures that the lamb on your table is flavorful and  rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E, and beta-carotene. It will be healthy and delicious.
